Sleep Number Wins Silver For Event Marketer 2019 Experience Design Technology Awards
The editors of Event Marketer announce the winners of the 2019 Experience Design & Technology Awards, the world’s largest—and only—recognition program celebrating the best use of design, social media and event technology to enhance live experiences.
This year’s “best and brightest” are recognized at an awards luncheon at EventTech in Las Vegas. Groove Jones helped our client, Sleep Number take home a SILVER Award for Best Combination of Event Technologies (B to C) Category.

Sleep Number Super Bowl LIII Fan Engagement
For the second year in a row, Sleep Number asked Groove Jones to support them at another Super Bowl. Sleep Number is the Official Sleep and Wellness Partner of the NFL. We created a multiplayer Quarterback Challenge VR game that allows fans to experience first hand, how a good and bad night’s sleep can impact your performance.
How do you entice people to think “mattresses” at a Super Bowl fan fest? Sleep Number set up a virtual bedroom, where a visitor could enter their name and favorite team before the space transformed, using projection mapping technology, to display team logos and colors, and the guest’s name on a jersey overhead. And a VR “quarterback challenge” offered a twist — after throwing footballs at virtual targets under normal conditions, the game challenged participants to throw passes while feeling sleep-deprived.
