Corona Premier Virtual Reality Golf On-Premise Campaign
Groove Jones had the exciting opportunity to work with Constellation Brands’ Corona Premier Team by creating a fun and exciting golf experience using virtual reality in connection with Corona’s upcoming Corona Premier Golf campaign.
The Corona Premier VR Golf Tour will give consumers a fun and exciting golf experience through virtual reality. By wearing a VR headset, consumers can play golf in a way that only Groove Jones and Corona Premier could bring to life!
The Corona Premier Go Golf VR Experience
The game will transport the participants to the “Corona Premier Clubhouse,” where they will choose from one of three custom-designed locations to test their golfing skills.
- Coastal Breeze
- Mountain Mist
- Desert Springs
Users don’t have to be a golf pro to play, as we designed the game with the “casual player” in mind. Meaning it will be easy for anyone to step in and play – but challenging to master, with a total average game time of 3-5 minutes.
Groove Jones had the pleasure of producing the following details as part of the single-player VR App production:
- Environment – the game features three majestic course designs
- One Controller – Player club select per shot
- User Customizable Club Sizing
- Point system derived from performance
Once the players enter the VR space, they are met with a larger-than-life landscape.
From there, they can use the dashboard (HUD) floating right in front of them to select their preferred course to play golf. They can begin the Corona Premier VR Golf Tour by pointing their controller.
A prompt will appear, giving the player details on their club options, the hole, par count, and club adjustments. Once the player hits the golf ball with their club, the game transports them through the course to where their ball landed—repeating these steps until they sink their putt!
Players will receive points for getting the ball in the hole within the stroke allotment.
The first hole is a par 3, pitting the user against a significant water hazard and a few bunkers around the green. Once the player finishes the first hole, they are met with a summary, presenting their score and stroke count.
Players then move onto the second hole, a par 4, where they will go through similar motions, only this time, hole two is a straight shot with a dog leg.
Both holes offer players intricate landscapes, bunkers, and magnificent natural elements – thus being one of the most visually appealing VR golf games on the market!
Three Unique Courses To Play
Players can choose to play between three different courses. Coastal Breeze Course lies between a sandy beach with palm trees, a rustic light tower, and a large mountain range.
The Desert Springs Course puts you on a beautiful course surrounded by desert and mountain ranges.
Mountain Mist Course places you on a course with majestic pine trees and snow-capped mountains.
Casual Style Gaming for a Broad Audience
We created the game so everyone could jump in and play. Part of the game design was modifying the scoring mechanism. Players were given higher point values based on the hole’s par value.
- Hole In One: 50,000
- Double Eagle: 30,000
- Eagle: 15,000
- Par: 10,000
- Bogey: 9,000
- Double Bogey: 8,000
- Triple Bogey: 7,000
- Four X Bogey: 6,000
- Five X Bogey: 5,000
Custom Corona Premier Golf Equipment
Guests will be outfitted with Corona Premier clubs and golf balls. We created a custom-branded Driver, 5-Iron, Wedge, and Putter.
The Corona Premier Golf VR experience was launched at Constellation Brands’ 2023 Gold Network Summit at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas.
Distributors, partners, and Constellation Brand team members got the chance to hit the links at the event.
The Corona Premier team will use the experience for on-site activations this summer across the United States. Over 150 headsets have been deployed for the rollout.
