Award winning creative studio Groove Jones films immersive music video for Apple Vision Pro.
Fremont, CA, USA – Friday, November 21, 2025 – Blackmagic Design today announced that the “No Brainer” music video for Dallas based music collective Cure For Paranoia was captured with the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive digital film camera. Filmed by creative studio Groove Jones, URSA Cine Immersive allowed viewers to step inside the music and surround themselves in a cinematic, stereoscopic media performance environment. The immersive music video is available to view on Apple Vision Pro using Spatial Browsing mode in Safari, available with visionOS 26 or later.
Groove Jones is an award winning studio specializing in immersive experiences for global brands, artists, and innovators. Teaming up with Cure For Paranoia, Groove Jones shot the “No Brainer” music video at Dallas’ Gallery DeFi art space. Set within a vibrant landscape of installations and mixed media pieces, the band’s performance was heightened by bold visuals that mirrored its eclectic style.
Dale Carman, Groove Jones co founder and executive creative director, explained the choice around URSA Cine Immersive: “The image quality is simply mind blowing. We’ve gone from roughly 2K per eye, to 4K per eye, and now to a staggering 8K per eye with URSA Cine Immersive. That’s now more than 16 times the pixel data we originally started with, all running at 90 fps instead of the old 30 fps. Add the jump from 8 bit color to full 12 bit HDR, and you’re talking about trillions of colors and a depth of realism that just wasn’t possible before. It’s not just more pixels; it’s better pixels, richer light, and smoother motion that makes your brain believe it’s real.”
Groove Jones’ Creative Director Karim Youssef and Associate Creative Director Henry Casillas operated as co DPs on the project, sharing lighting and camera responsibilities as a tight, two person unit. The small footprint was intentional, as the three hour shoot needed to wrap before the gallery opened to the public, demanding spontaneity and a fast pace. To match that energy without sacrificing craft, the team selected the URSA Cine Immersive for its dual 8K sensors, a 180 degree field of view, and 16 stops of dynamic range, providing stunning clarity and realism.

Using a minimal lighting kit to shape faces and separate the band from the space, the team identified four distinct zones in the gallery and rotated the band through each setup. They shot six takes per zone, noting that the camera setup was quick and the workflow was simple. The team reviewed the video on site with Apple Vision Pro, even letting the talent preview the footage in the device.
“With URSA Cine Immersive, moves between setups took minutes instead of an hour. The footprint is small and confidence inspiring; we could get the camera into spots that would have been unthinkable with legacy immersive rigs,” said Youssef. “It was also great that we could monitor simultaneously, as we often ran LUT vs. Log across screens to judge look and exposure in real time and pick the right ISO quickly. And I love that transitions and spatial comps weren’t baked into capture. That gave us creative latitude in editorial and far shorter renders than the stitched workflows of the past.”
The Groove Jones team has been shooting immersive content since 2012, working with nearly every immersive camera rig available. “URSA Cine Immersive changes the game,” Carman said. “It behaves like a true cinema camera, with professional grade menus, intuitive controls, dual touchscreens, and a compact form factor that makes on set work fast and reliable. You can finally focus on storytelling, blocking, performance and light, instead of constantly fighting the technology.”

Carman concluded: “We’ve seen it and done it all. With the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive camera, this is the first time the technology feels truly ready for prime time. Blackmagic has created a professional camera designed specifically for immersive capture, one that checks every box needed for real production work.”
