AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 5G Enabled AR Fan Engagement
AT&T and Wasserman hired Groove Jones to create a memorable and socially shareable AR 5G enabled experience for the 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The fan experience is promoting 5G with entertaining and personalized AR content.
Golf fans would stand next to a podium and pose with an animated naughty gopher who just bored his way towards them.
Once they had their chance to strike a pose with the gopher they were then sent a socially shareable moment video. To pull this off we leveraged AT&T’s lightning-fast 5G network to push the content to the cloud and then deliver it to the guest’s phone!
Groove Jones utilized Google’s ARCore and stylized CGI animations to bring the Gopher to life and interact with physical objects in the real world.

One of the most exciting events on the PGA TOUR, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is contested annually in front of thousands of spectators and millions of television viewers on three of the Monterey Peninsula’s premier golf courses: Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, and Monterey Peninsula Country Club Shore Course. All tournament proceeds benefit charities across the Monterey County, Santa Cruz County, and San Benito County
The experience was available to any guest that made their way to the AT&T Loft which featured additional technologies and interactive experiences for golf fans.
