3D and VFX is where we started and are in our DNA. From VFX for short formats to feature-length animated productions, our leadership team has produced and directed multiple feature films. We’ve provided visual effects for broadcast commercials (Audi, Fiat, Hasbro, and Coca-Cola) and music videos for Katy Perry and P!nk. We continue to work in the commercial production space. However, that has evolved over the past decade.
While we still do VFX for commercials, we are now putting out talents to work on anamorphic billboards, VR headsets, smartphones, tablets, and mobile applications that are windows into the world we create.

3D & VFX Client: Samsung
To showcase the incredible quality and cutting-edge features of the latest Samsung TVs, Groove Jones employed a fusion of advanced techniques to bring the content into the 4th dimension. Using their proprietary GrooveTech AI, they transformed 2D images into immersive, three-dimensional experiences. This was achieved by extracting depth maps, segmenting foregrounds and backgrounds, and generating geometry to make the elements seemingly leap from the screen into the viewer’s space. This innovative process was further enhanced by a lively interplay between the Neo QLED and OLED TVs, resulting in a captivating and immersive viewing experience like no other.

3D & VFX Client: Spirit Halloween
Yes, it looks like a 3D billboard, but it is a forced perspective illusion that we created for Spirit Halloween, and it appeared in Times Square this Halloween season. The Groove Jones team was asked to create this eye-catching OOH experience that features Jack the Reaper as he smashes through this oversized digital billboard in New York’s Times Square and reaches out to grab onlookers below. The animation begins with the Spirit Halloween logo and URL callout. Then all of a sudden, a powerful force begins to punch the billboard as if it wants to break out.

3D & VFX Client: Intel
To help explain how 5G networks will be a huge part of our lives, Intel is using VR to take you on a journey of what the future looks like. Groove Jones and Intel’s experiential team Infinity Marketing worked together to create this fantastic journey that debuted at the CeBIT Conference in Germany. The entire production was delivered as a pre-rendered CGI experience.

We were asked by GTB and Ford to create an immersive and interactive VR experience for the public and press to get a firsthand look at the deep suite of Ford Co-Pilot360™ safety products. The production was 100% CGI and involved the creation of multiple environments as well as fully interactive gameplay and tracking.

Debuting publicly for the first time just outside the convention center at the Hilton Bayfront Park, FX built an immersive American Horror Story VR experience for fans inside a dark, ominous-looking silo. North Kingdom, the creative agency, selected Groove Jones as the VR studio to help bring their vision to life. This was not an experience for the faint of heart. This was top-notch horror, and fans were given a glimpse into what was ahead in this year’s super-secret season. The entire production involved CGI and VFX, which were displayed in real-time using Unreal Engine.

The automotive market is undergoing rapid and fundamental changes with autonomous driving, ride and car-sharing, and vehicle electrification. Covestro is a leading producer of advanced polymers and high-performance plastics in North America and worldwide. Groove Jones worked with the Covestro Future of Mobility (FoM) team to launch a new VR (Virtual Reality) experience allowing you to enter that future. The production involved character, environmental design, and application development.

Celebrate Dia de Los Muertos this year with Modelo and augmented reality! Dia de Los Muertos is a celebration of life that honors the dead in Mexican culture. Groove Jones worked with the Constellation Brands Beer Division Southeast team to create a unique OOH and point-of-sale campaign that brings the Modelo art pieces to life through the power of AR. All you need is your phone to activate the experience. The AR experience depicts traditional Dia de Los Muertos imagery with marigolds, an offrenda, candles, and a beautiful Katrina holding an ice-cold Modelo Especial.
